Where I come from, Where I’m headed
“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”-Mahatma Gandhi. This quote is always in my mind because it gives me the perfect idea to enjoy the life to the fullest and still understand that I am never going to stop learning new things. Throughout my lifetime I’ve made many accomplishments and mistakes as well, fortunately I’ve been able to grow out the bad times and make a good time out of them. My name is Juan Diego Ceballos and I will tell you a little bit about me and where I come from.
I was born and raised in a small town, surrounded around orange fields and on a hillside, named Lindsay, CA. I’m 16 years old. I come from a big family that consists of six males and four females, I am the 4th oldest in the family. Although I’m not the oldest I’ve been the oldest figure for my younger siblings and at times for the older ones too. My family is originated from a small humble yet poor ranch in Mexico. Along with many families to receive a better future. I have been able to gain my dad’s trust at full length for the reason that I’ve always been upfront to him and helped him out around home and in his business. My parents are hard working and they’ve lived and showed me how to work and respectfully treat others since a young age. Currently my dad has a Trucking company and the whole family has some kind of involvement in the business.
Like many people I try to live life to the fullest, simply by doing what I enjoy the most. I have quite a few goals to accomplish gradually. There are some goals I’ve been able to achieve, meanwhile others I’m still working on them. As of right now I am proud with my achievements because I’ve found my way into bull riding and horse riding. Yet, I want to be one of the best ones. I want to be a Professional Bull Rider and a Horse reiner. I personally think that I’m in a good pace to achieve my goals, I have been able to win 2nd and 3rd places in Bull riding events, still trying to attain 1st place. In reining I've began to work on my own project which is to train my own horse and show him my self. I still have not showed in reining because I feel that my horse isn't ready at the moment. I'll be showing my horse in events soon. I am concerned that if I am to become someone recognized in these criterias I will never stop learning, that is why I’ve chosen this lifestyle, choosing something that I would never get tired of and that I would always be happy to learn about.
My family has always been there to support me whether they agree or disagree with my choices. My dad on the other hand is the one that is always there for me. He introduced me into horse riding and bull riding. My dad is the one that has helped me understand that my goals are achievable. Therefore, I want to make not only him but my whole family proud. I want to expand my father's legacy by helping him out more than I already do. I want to be able to help him expand his business into a bigger and brighter future.
